Interior design in Limassol is normally quoted per square metre of the area being designed, and the district's published range is wide enough that the unit matters far less than the scope behind it. Two studios can quote the same rate and mean different things: one is selling drawings and a specification, the other drawings plus procurement plus weekly attendance on site until the last light fitting is aimed. Make both quotes describe the same job before you compare them.
Local market summary
Rapid high-rise development along the seafront has raised demand across the finishing trades and pulled much of the district's design capacity towards new-build apartments, offices and hospitality. That shows up on your job twice: on start dates, and in a default specification pitched at a coastal apartment rather than at a family living in a flat while the work happens.
The practices that quote here work the whole district — the town centre, Germasogeia, Mesa Geitonia, Agios Athanasios, Ypsonas, Kato Polemidia and out to Parekklisia and Pissouri. Distances are short and travel rarely appears as a separate line the way it does in the far west, so filtering a shortlist by address filters on almost nothing. What separates them is the work they deliver.
Independent designers selling a design package
You buy the layout, elevations, finishes schedule, joinery and lighting drawings and a written specification, then tender that package yourself. The fee is visible because it is the only thing you are paying for.
Studios that design and deliver the whole interior
Described locally as a turnkey project: design, procurement, joinery and site management as one contract with one point of responsibility. Convenient, and the reason to read carefully — design fee, supply margin and management charge can all sit inside a single number.
Commercial and hospitality practices
Hotel rooms, restaurants, offices and short-let apartments are a different discipline, where durability, cleaning cycles, extraction, fire and accessibility drive the drawing. A studio strong on private houses is not automatically right for a guest floor.

What it costs here
Those figures are read from our records when the page loads rather than typed into the text, so they do not quietly age. What the table cannot tell you is which direction each variable pushes your own quote.
The fee basis. A rate per square metre is easy to compare and says nothing about how many hours the awkward rooms take. Hourly suits bounded work — a layout review, a second opinion on a developer's standard specification before you sign. A fixed fee against a written scope buys cost certainty and moves the overrun risk onto the designer, who prices for that. A percentage of project value rises with your specification, making it the most expensive basis on the job where you are most tempted to upgrade.
Where the scope stops. Concept only, full drawings, or drawings plus procurement and site supervision — three prices for the same apartment. Ask how many site visits the fee includes and what a visit costs after that.
Procurement and margin. If the studio buys the furniture, agree in writing whether you are charged trade cost plus a stated percentage, or a retail price with the discount kept. Both are legitimate; only one is comparable against a designer who buys nothing.
New build against occupied refurbishment. A shell apartment in a new tower is drawn once and built in sequence. The same specification in a lived-in flat means phasing, protection, dust control and a survey of what is behind the plaster. The design hours are similar; the management hours are not, and that gap is usually why one quote sits above another.
Visualisation. Photoreal images are priced per image with a set number of revisions. Settle the count before the studio starts.
Local conditions that change the job
The seafront and the suburbs are two different briefs. On the front, direct coastal exposure means salt-laden air, and galvanised or marine-grade fixings and ironmongery are standard for that reason. Inland at Kato Polemidia or Ypsonas that premium buys nothing. If a schedule specifies marine-grade hardware throughout, ask what it is protecting against at your address.
Glazing is the other coastal variable. The towers sell the view, which means large south and west-facing glass, strong afternoon solar gain, glare that makes a room unusable for part of the day, and fabric fading faster than most people expect. The answers are specification decisions: solar control film where the building allows it, shading that works from the inside, and textiles chosen for light-fastness rather than for the sample book.
Access is worth settling early in a tower. Ask the service lift's internal dimensions and door width, whether it must be booked and protected, what hours building management allows deliveries, and where a lorry can legally stand. A stone worktop or a sofa that will not break down is what fails this test, and it fails on delivery day. In the older blocks behind the centre and the narrow streets of the old town, the constraint is the street rather than the lift.
In an apartment, remember what is not yours to change. Shared drainage, the common facade and the balcony edge belong to the building, and a high-rise management company will have a written position on extraction terminations and anything drilled through the envelope. Get that position before the drawings are issued. Where work moves a wall, alters the envelope or relocates drainage, the drawings need certification by a professional registered with ETEK, under the route administered by the Department of Town Planning and Housing. A designer without that registration can have the design certified by someone who holds it — an ordinary arrangement here, but one to settle before the design starts rather than at permit stage.

Do you publish reviews or ratings for interior designers in Limassol?
No. There are no reviews, stars or testimonials anywhere on this site. What we publish is checkable: completed projects, stated specialisms, registrations and how each studio charges. To judge the work, look at a finished project of similar size and budget, and ask the designer for the contact details of the client who commissioned it.
Is interior design more expensive in Limassol than elsewhere?
The district's rates reflect a busy market in which coastal new-build has absorbed a lot of capacity. What you control is scope rather than location: a design package you tender yourself is a different price from a turnkey contract, and a fixed fee against a written scope caps the part of the number you can cap.
What is included in a turnkey interior project?
It varies enough that the word alone tells you nothing. Ask for a written list covering design stages, procurement, joinery, site management, snagging and handover, and ask which of those carry a margin.
Do I need an ETEK-registered professional as well as a designer?
Only where the work touches structure, the building envelope or drainage positions, in which case the drawings must be certified by someone on the ETEK register. Redecoration, joinery and furniture inside an existing layout generally do not trigger it.
Should the designer be based in Limassol itself?
Not necessarily, but a practice that works the district regularly knows the building managers, the trades and the delivery constraints in the towers. Choose on completed work and fee terms.
