About our crawler
If you found this page from a line in your server logs, this explains who we are and what we were doing.
What it identifies as
Our crawler sends this user agent, and it always sends a link back to this page:

Business listings: trading name, address, district, town, phone number, website and category. Nothing else. We do not collect email addresses from web pages, we do not follow forms, and we do not attempt to access anything behind a login.
Where the data comes from
Today, entirely from OpenStreetMap, under the Open Database Licence. We query the Overpass API for the area under the control of the Republic of Cyprus and take only named business locations.
The current dataset holds 14,364 entries, last refreshed on 2026-07-30.
Every field we store records which source it came from, the URL it came from and the date we fetched it. That is what lets us answer a question about a single detail rather than shrugging at the whole record.
How often it runs
Against OpenStreetMap, roughly monthly. We do not crawl individual business websites on a schedule. Where we fetch a company’s own site, it is once, to confirm a detail we already hold.
Rate limits and politeness
One request at a time, with a pause between each. We respect robots.txt. If our traffic is causing you a problem, tell us and we will stop — you do not need to justify the request.
Correcting something
If a detail is wrong, the fastest fix is usually at the source. Because our data comes from OpenStreetMap, an edit there flows through to us on the next refresh and to every other service using the same data. If you would rather we corrected it directly, use the removal form and say what should change instead.
What we do not do
- We do not sell placement. Ranking position cannot be bought.
- We do not collect or publish reviews of our own.
- We do not scrape competitors’ directories, and we do not use Google Maps or Places data.
- We do not build profiles of individuals, only of businesses.
