Where the work moves a wall, alters the building envelope or relocates drainage, the drawings need certification by a professional registered with ETEK, under the route administered by the Department of Town Planning and Housing. A kitchen designer without that registration can produce the design perfectly well and have it certified by someone who holds it. That is an ordinary arrangement in Cyprus, but settle it before the design starts. Discovered at permit stage, it is a delay measured in months. In an apartment block, check the building's own position as well: shared drainage and a common facade are not yours to alter unilaterally, and an extractor terminating through an external wall touches both.
